Hodges Loizzi partner Babak Bakhtiari was recently appointed to the Illinois Council of School Attorneys’ (ICSA) newly formed Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.

The ICSA Executive Committee established the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee with the mission to provide leadership and guidance to ICSA members to help them create, enhance, and sustain workplace environments and organizational cultures that value and encourage diversity, inclusion, and equitable practices and policies, and to support ICSA members working with their client districts toward educational equity.

Babak Bakhtiari represents school districts in a variety of areas. He litigates employment discrimination claims in federal court, including cases based on age, disability, sexual harassment, race/national origin, and religion. His practice also includes civil rights claims based on due process, excessive force, Title IX, and freedom of speech and religion, and he advises districts on a variety of employment and student-related issues.
