On April 19, the U.S. Department of Education issued its final rule amending the Title IX regulations (34 C.F.R. Part 106). The regulations govern how school districts respond to and address allegations of sex discrimination under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The 2024 Title IX regulations take effect today, August 1, 2024.
The 2024 Title IX regulations require significant changes to school district policies and grievance procedures. For districts that subscribe to the IASB PRESS policy service, a policy update was released today. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the new and updated PRESS policies and administrative procedures to implement the 2024 Title IX regulations. We are happy to discuss any questions you have about the documents, adoption of the policies by your board of education due to the effective date of the regulations, and options for tailoring the policies and procedures for your district.
To assist school districts with implementing the 2024 Title IX regulations, we developed our 2024 Title IX Grievance Process Resources. The resource materials, which include model forms, notices, decision templates, and checklist, are designed to support a district’s response to sex discrimination allegations consistent with the requirements set forth in the 2024 Title IX regulations. Our resources are aligned with and reference the applicable IASB PRESS policies and administrative procedures. Additionally, they can be tailored for your district.
We are pleased to offer the 2024 Title IX Resources package on a flat-fee basis. The order form is available here.
In addition, Title IX trainings are underway for Title IX roles and employees. For more information on Title IX training, see our article here.
