Ebony C. Smith concentrates her school law practice in labor and employment-related issues. She is a member of the National Employment Law Council as well as the National and Illinois Council of School Attorneys. In 2019, Ms. Smith was recognized by The National Black Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 African American attorney in Illinois.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith served as a labor and employment associate for a large firm in Chicago where she provided employment law regulatory counsel and litigation representation for public and privately held companies. She also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lewis M. Nixon of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and the Honorable Cynthia Y. Cobbs of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Ms. Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and graduated with public interest, service, and leadership honors from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team.
