Jason Manning represents public and private schools, universities, companies, and individuals in all phases of litigation, at the trial, appellate, and administrative levels, with a focus on complex school and commercial matters. Mr. Manning also advises on board governance and regulatory matters and represents clients in internal and government investigations.
In the school space, Mr. Manning handles a wide variety of litigation, investigation, and regulatory matters under federal and state law involving contract disputes, Title IX and misconduct investigations, charter school renewals, TIF disputes, referendum issues, OMA claims, and employment disputes arising under FMLA, Equal Pay Act, and Title VII.
In the commercial space, Mr. Manning has extensive experience handling matters involving antitrust, contract, shareholder, fiduciary duty, copyright, non-compete, joint venture, bankruptcy, and other commercial issues. He has also represented clients in numerous federal government investigations by the SEC, CFTC, and FTC.
Mr. Manning has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for four consecutive years (2013-2016) and an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers (2016). Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Manning spent over 9 years handling complex litigation and government enforcement matters at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in their Chicago office. Mr. Manning also serves as a member of the board and governance committee for Educational Assistance Ltd., a non-profit entity that partners with corporations to create college scholarships for needy students.
