Timothy E. Guare
Tim Guare devotes his practice almost exclusively to the handling of personnel matters and the development of labor law in both the public and the private sectors in Illinois. Mr. Guare has represented clients in unfair labor practice charges and representation proceedings before the National, Illinois State, Local and Educational Labor Relations Boards. He has negotiated numerous contracts for public entities, and is frequently called upon to provide assistance to his clients in the administration of their labor contracts, including grievance processing and counseling on important legal developments affecting employers and employees alike. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Guare was a teacher of mathematics. He also served as a member of the Riverside-Brookfield High School District No. 208 Board of Education. Mr. Guare is a frequent presenter on public sector labor and employment law topics in various forums, and has co-authored sections on collective bargaining for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s volumes on School Law and Municipal Law. Mr. Guare received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and his law degree in 1984 from DePaul University.
