As an associate in the firm, Mary Karagiannis concentrates her practice in the areas of labor and personnel matters for public and private school clients. Mary advises clients on a wide range of matters including Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act issues, employee discipline and dismissal matters, reductions-in-force, grievances, and labor negotiations. In addition, she has extensive experience representing clients in matters such as arbitrations, unfair labor practices charges, unlawful discrimination complaints, and discipline hearings. Clients can always rely on Mary to be fully prepared and advocate their interests in a professional and productive manner.

Prior to joining the firm, Mary was an elementary school teacher in both rural and urban communities. Her past experiences as an educator provide her a unique perspective when handling labor and personnel matters as she is more attuned to the differing needs and goals of each individual community.

In her spare time, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, cat, and dog. She also enjoys playing tennis and trying new food.
